About
Bluesexpress is a Pescara hometown based band in Abruzzo Italy. Played around his region in 2004 and 2005 in many different pubs and local music Festivals.
In 2004 Francesco Marrama, the drummer, was making the queue at the post office and eventually chatting with a woman who’s husband, Massimo D’Intino, was searching for a band to play with. Marrama was in the processing to form a blues band and asked her to get him in touch with Massimo (keyboard player). The next week they met and argued about a bass player and a guitar player. The bass playes was supposed to be Quirino Prosperi, who had a little country house nearby Pescara, where they could have reharsed. So Massimo D’intino asked to his collegue his brother phone number, because he was supposed to be a good guitar player. Massimo’ s collegue called his brother who was always reluctant to new adventures, and hardly they arrenged an appointment to give a go. Remo Firmani played Wall of Denials, by Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Francesco e Massimo, thought to have found the last peace of the new band. The name came from Francesco Marrama, Bluesexpress, which was the title of a blues collection cd.
In the cold, old and thick with smoke, country house, the started to reharsal once a week. Remo who was the singer to, choose the song which he was much more used. Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray, Robben Ford, Bob Dylan and some JJ Cale’s. Together they had a good sound. They soon started play live in small pubs and little venues. They had much fun playing together. Some months later, Marrama came out, with the news che an American Blues bass player and singer was, from Oregon, was in Sulmona and wanted to play with us. The problem was that they had yet a bass player and a singer. It was a little unfair moment. But they decide che Dino De Nino, the American with italic origin, could have sung, and Remo had the opportunity to play better guitar parts.
Now the level was further higher, and every venues they played was packed, because the presence of Dino. He had such a brilliant carismatic on the stage and the audience was captured by his voice and his movements. The highest pick of the band was in july 2004 when they had the opportunity to play at Gessopalena Blues Festival. In an ancient Romanic Venues, they played before 300 people who loved their performance. After them played, they get on stage even the greats Hot Tuna. Was a blast.
